Eskhatos is the direct sequel to "Prophetic Era (Or How Yahveh Became the One)" in textual and musical terms. It is a journey through three periods in the history of the Jewish people.
Three periods in direct connection with the eschatological hopes specific to this people.

Eskhatos features different men. They hoped during their lifetime that their god would come to save them, that he would restore justice and punish the oppressors.
They hoped for the end of time.

None of this happened because their hopes collided mortally with reality.

Day of Yahveh takes place in 164 BCE during the reign of King Antiochus IV of the Seleucid dynasty.
The famous Judas Maccabee hopes for the coming of the day of Yahveh, he thinks that his cause is right and that his god will defeat the Greek oppressor.
He will be one of the first to theorize the notion of martyrdom, to fight to the death for his religious beliefs and to justify the death on earth of the religious fighter for a greater reward in the hereafter.
Even if the rebellion in which Judas Maccabee participated ended up succeeding with the return of the sacrifices in the temple of Jerusalem, the god Yahveh is in no way responsible for this success, only men are. Later, political unrest would persist for decades, and Judea would violently come under Roman rule 100 years later.

Dusk of Flesh plunges us into the heart of the siege of the city of Jerusalem and the destruction of its temple in 70 CE by the Roman legions of General Titus.
Fighting across of all Judea and famine in the besieged city will cause hundreds of thousands of deaths.
The god Yahveh will be totally absent from this moment in human history.

Dawn of Life recounts the last hours of Simon Bar Kokhba and his men through the eyes of one of the few survivors. All besieged in 135 CE at the fortress of Betar by the Roman legions.
Simon bar Kokhba was however seen as the announced messiah, one among many others before and after him, by the Hebrew prophets for centuries.
The god Yahveh, once again, will be the eternal absent.
No rescue, no miracle, only cities razed to the ground and hundreds of thousands dead.

Eskhatos by AthanaTheos, a journey to an end of the world that will never happen.
